# on my shelf - Therese Sennerholt

One of my favourite hashtags on instagram is the #onmyshelf one
just love to admire all these beautiful styled shelves
(or whatever used... tables, cabinets, cupboard)
but most of all the added personal touch
gives us the idea getting to know each other a little bit...
and that is what attracts me most!

because it thought it would be fun to share and to
be inspired by each other's creative ideas
I have asked some of my favourite bloggers/IGers to share their "shelfies"
accompanied by some words or a short story...

just love her stunning graphic prints, quotes and sayings,
postcards and photo art but also her styling and
amazing instagram still lifes (see it here
and  she has just launched her new collection Shapes + words

this week talented and successful designer
 Therese Sennerholt
shares heres...

Therese wrote me:

The main focus in my living room is my black Chesterfield couch and then
the wall of long shelves where I keep coffeetable books,
personal details, boxes from items i have bought,
and a mix of things that mean a lot to me.
I have even saved  wrapping paper from a gift with personal words on it,
just because I like it.
So the shelves are storage but also decoration to the room.

I like things in order so I try to keep the items in straight piles,
but somehow there always end up tear sheets from fashion magazines
and other stuff that makes the perfect imperfect.

I just launched a new collection of prints and postcards,
and on the wall you see one of the postcards,
I am all into patterns and shapes right now,
and the new collection is inspired by fashion and clean lines.

I also love shoes, its my IT-thing, i don't always wear the shoes i buy,
sometimes i put them on my shelf as a piece of decoration.
The black crocodile boots are from Lykke Li's co-lab with &other Stories
they are todays favourites.

I always listen to music as well,
so my computer is always attached to the speaker from Jawbone,
right now I am listening to Banks, just love her sound.
It gives me peace of mind, and gives me energy to be creative.

Hege wrote me:

I've had this IKEA shelf for ages and not known where to put it.
Last week I realised that it fits on the wall behind
the door to our bedroom, with only a couple of centimetres to spare.
It has transformed the empty space completely
and it's a lot more pleasant to enter the room.

I've decided to put things that inspire me on the new shelf.
I'm a believer in city centres as I don't like shopping centres.
I prefer small independent shops instead of seeing the same shops everywhere,
so when I found this quote in ID magazine I instantly ripped it out!
Since moving back to Scotland I'm totally obsessed with
the architecture  in the city centres here.
The buildings are amazing!
It's a shame to see some towns struggle with
competition from large shopping centres.

A colour I really like this season is dark green like on the page
with the guy with the tattoos (love tattoos!).
I've just had a tester pot of paint made up in that colour
- it's called Peacock Blue.
I'm not sure what to do with it yet,
but there's probably a DIY project to come on my blog.

I know my new shelf will constantly be changing, but I like that.
I think change it's good for you.

Ps. Would you like to share your #shelf??  Feel free to join in.. and send me a mail!

This weekend I was invited for
a special dinner at the beautiful new
First or Second concept store in Alkmaar (northern Netherlands)

The First or Second concept store
is founded  by Jantine and Vivian (April and May)
and from the moment I entered the shop
I felt their great passion for interior, design, fashion, art,
children rooms, prints and materials but also second hand items!
I was greatly inspired by the originality and the appearance of their shop
(that will be changed every 3 months to a new theme!)

Besides all the beautiful styled corners in the store,
there was the decorated and furnished home, the 1or2 VILLA
which is - just like the 1or2 CAFE -  part of  (and located in)
the conceptstore and a real eye catcher.
I could spend  hours in that amazing home
and yes I really would love to live in there!!

After our tour in the VILLA Jantine and Vivian took us to the
cafe where we had some drinks, a delicious meal
(prepared in the beautiful Kvik kitchen of the villa) and a nice cup of coffee!
Surrounded by the stunning designs of
Norm architects and  Menu and accompanied by
lovely and inspiring people I really had a fantastic evening!

just loved the warm and very personal atmosphere in the store
and it was a pleasure to admire
what Jantine and Vivian have accomplished in a very short time ...
It was great to be there... thanks sweet ladies!

available brands: Minotti, B&B Italia, Vitra, Flexform en Pastoe Menu, Hay, Muuto, AndTradition and Vipp

this week one of my favorite and very talented interior stylist and photographer
Paulina Arcklin shares hers in her just restyled (a total makeover)
and new living room (her former home office)

Paulina wrote me:

I have these 2 vintage pallet carts functioning as coffee tables in my living room,
but actually they are more in use as shelves because
I don’t have any kind of shelf in my house!
I collect items and style them as a moodboard on top of these tables.
So I call my tables moodboard tables.

At this moment, there are a few Sixtydays catalogues on my table.
Sixtydays is a swedish fashion brand which I really love
(not only the clothes but also the beautiful catalogue photos!)
Two weeks ago I had such a  great time when
Sixtydays fashion Designer Efty Kvist visited my home.
it was amazing... She took  the2 Sixtydays skulls for me as a gift
and that meant a lot to me...  they are very special!

On my table you can also see my latest deco addition
 - a big wooden Indian art piece from Hoffz (bought it at Tutze.nl.)
I love the huge size and I’m using it as a candlestick with a big candle on it.
All these items together gives a soft ethnic vibe to my industrial moodboard tables.

# on my shelf - Jennifer Leveau

one of my favourite hashtags on instagram is the #onmyshelf one
Love to admire all these beautiful styled shelves

(or whatever used... tables, cabinets, cupboard)
but most of all the added personal touch
gives us the idea getting to know each other a little bit...
and that is what attracts me most

Last week when I was making some plans
to create my own workspace while restyling my shelves -
I was asking myself:  wouldn't it be fun to share some #shelfies on my blog...
don't we all love to share and to be inspired by each other's
creative ideas and knowing a little bit more about it ?

I have asked some of of my favourite bloggers to share their "shelfies"
accompanied by some words or a short story...

this week Jennifer - founder of the beautiful and always inspiring j.levau.blog
(love her styling and her very personal stories)
and owner of the j.leveau webshop
shares hers...

Jennifer wrote me:

Actually my "shelf" is a storage combination with doors from the bestå series of Ikea.

When you have kids you need a lot of storage space to be able to clean up loose stuff and hide it!
In our case it had to be a compact storage cabinet and it had to serve other purposes as well.
The chosen (and very practical) Bestå storage cabinet can be used as a bench...
or... as a creative shelf for this crazy mother obsessed by interior :-)

Influenced by my mood of the moment, but also by the change of seasons,
I love to rearrange and restyle my shelf very often... but I always keep it simple,
without strong colors,  just natural!

For this fall and winter I am in the mood for nude, shades of grey, hints of green and brass,
different kinds of wood and cork and knitted textiles and skins.
I love it when a shelf looks personal with mixes of practical and beautiful items
(handcrafted ones imparticular) and lots of different materials and shapes.

I think round shapes add warmth to an interior...  as well as images or photos of people.
To create a warmer atmosphere in your home during fall and winter
I would like to recommend to add wood, textiles,  rugs and perhaps
some new posters with warmer colors or shapes.
Plants are great to add as well. Cactuses (easy to look after and a bit rough and edgy, like me :))
are my absolute favourites at the moment :).

On my shelf you´ll see many items by Hay (a favourite brand)  and some items from my shop,
the j. levau shop from which I pick and choose items after mood and trends.
The poster, from Artek is my latest purchase, just love it!
